Week 5 report

Week 5 term 2
Fitness-a-thon finished
This week the fitness-a-thon finished

The fitness-a-thon was a fundraiser for ipads, sports gear, iPods and chrome boards. Everyone has done there fitness test now and lots of people have got amazing Improvements since the last test. 
We hope that everyone in the school gets some money
This has turned into a really fun activity as well as good for your health.

Week One Term Two








EARTH DAY


On earth day we did fun activities like write down some things that we could do to help the earth then cut out a globe so there were flaps. We also watched videos about how people can do 'Acts of Green' to help the Earth. 

ANZAC READING


Today we did anzac reading where we got to re-seach a topic related to anzac and world war 1. One of the activites was about Flanders Field, the poem. People did amazing things for their homework this week which was about ANZAC day. See the photos of some of them below.
 

Fitness-a-thon

On Tuesday we did our pre-test for the fitness-a-thon. We not have to work on improving our fitness for the post test in week 5.
 

Maths

In Maths we have been looking at time and reading clocks.

Week8

We had a very busy week with ERO in, cricket finals, Bee day, Garden to Table, Sue the bee lady and building geometry cities! Check out the cricket video Mr Janse made.

Remember that it is swimming sports on Monday so bring your togs!
It is also parent interviews on Monday and Wednesday afternoons so school finishes at 1.50. Unless students are picked up, they must remain in school until 3.00.

This term we have made a number factory. What you had to do is you have a number and you have to divide, plus and minus and then you had to work it out.

Week 7

This week and last week room 34 has been doing swimming these are some photos.
Swimming sports is Monday the 30th at 9am.
They did some caterpillar races.

We have Garden to Table on Thursday 26th as well as our Bee Day in the morning.

Week 5

This week the boys in room 34 played room 27 who had never lost a game. It was very exciting.


Swimming is next week please name all of your child's swimming gear and uniform.

Week 4

We have been busy this week with P.A.T testing as well as continuing our learning about bees. We learnt about how bees pollinate flowers and used the I-pads to make videos about the process.
We also had our second Garden to Table session and we made tomato and basil crostini, couscous and pumpkin salad and peach muffins. It was delicious! Thanks again to all of our wonderful helpers!!!

Week 3

This week just flew by and we achieved a lot!

In writing we continued to work on our information reports. Have a look at the blog post about our insect information reports to learn some new and interesting facts about insects.

In sport we had the second round of our Year 4 cricket tournament and in PE we worked on our cricket skills.

For reading we have been focusing on how to find the main idea in a text and will be moving onto summarising next week.

Addition and subtraction strategies have been the focus in Maths this week.

This week was the start of Chinese New Year so in Mandarin lessons the class was learning about that, and in class we did some art related to Chinese New Year.


In topic we have been developing our understanding of Whanaungatanga and looking at all of the connections around us
